Ghorepani Poonhill Trek is a Wonderful Experience, it is short easy, and the most picturesque trek, that will leave you breathless in the Annapurna region of Nepal. The Ghorepani poonhill trek will aslo give you a good insight into the local rich ethnic villages of Gurung and Magar whilst passing through and beautiful forest’s, with diverse flora and fauna. The Ghorepani poonhill trek starts in the paradise city of Pokhara, where you can relax with a bottle of beer or go boating on the Phewa lake,with its stunning views of the snow-capped peaks. Pokhara is a place that will captivate you with its natural beauty .

The Ghorepani Poonhill trek begins with an hour’s drive, passing through Modi khola to Nayapul which is the starting point of the trek. Trekking along the low elevation landscape passing through dense forest and vegetation adorned by rhododendron’s, orchid’s and magnolia, the forest is aslo inhabited by the white breasted kingfisher,highland butterfly and other exotic animals and birds. We stay overnight at Thikhadhunga, we then head to Ghorepani passing through small villages, Ulleri,Bunthati and Nayathati ,with some picturesque views of the himalayas hiding in the shade of the tree’s. We stay overnight at Ghorepani. Ghorepani is actuilly derived frron Nepal words Ghoda (horse) and pani (water). in ancient time’s trader’s used this route to trade from Tibet. they found water resources here for there, horse’s and named the place Ghorepani.

We leave Ghorepani at dawn heading up to Poonhill, here you will experience unforgettable views,as the golden rays of the sun slowly rise through the Annapurna Himalaya range.Mt. Dhauagiri ,Mt.Machhapuchre, Mt.Nilgire, Tukache peak, Lamjung Himal and other peak’s.After sunrise we start to descend (there is no risk of Altitude sickness on this trek) toward’s Tadapani ,and then through the cultural and traditional Grung village of Ghandruk, heading back to Pokhara. Day 01:

Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu (1300m)

Day 02:

Kathmandu drive to Pokhara (6-7 hours)

Day 03:

Pokhara drive to Nayapul and trek to Tikhedhunga (2050m) 5-6 hours

Day 04:

Tikhedhunga trek to Ghorepani (2860m) 6-7 hours

Day 05:

Ghorepani trek to Tadapani (2700m) 5-6 hours

Day 06:

Tadapani Trek to Ghandruk (1940m) 3-4 hours

Day 07:

Ghandruk Trek to Nayapul and Drive to Pokhara

Day 01:

Arrival at the Tribhuwan International Airport of Kathmandu

You are greeted with a warm welcome from our staff at the Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu. Then you are whisked away to your hotel in private transportation where our guide will brief on the programs on days ahead.


Day 02:

Kathmandu Drive to Pokhara (6-7 hours)

Your guide will be escorting you to the bus station for Pokhara at 6:30 AM. Then your comfy tourist bus will head to Pokhara around 7:30 AM, while enjoying twisting rivers, valleys, beautiful rock gorges along the way. You may check in to your hotel on arrival, and in the meantime try boating on the scenic Fewa Lake overlooking Mount Machhapuchhre and Annapurna Range. Or enjoy night life around dazzling Lake Side as well.


Day 03:

Pokhara Drive to Nayapul and Trek to Tikhedhunga (2050m, 5-6 hours)

Our day start with a breakfast then a drive to Nayapul on private transport, from here we start our trek alongside the banks of Modi Khola. After a short walk we will arrive at Birethanti (1,015m), from there the trail continues side by side north bank of Bhurungdi Khola. We will be reaching on the side of Hille valley (1,495m) and to Tikhedhunga (2,050) after a short from there.


Day 04:

Tikhedhunga Trek to Ghorepani (2,860m, 6-7 hours)

From Tikhedhunga we will be heading to a large Magar village, Ulleri(2,070m). Next stop will Banthanti(2,250m) through oak forests and rhododendrons on the trail. The trail continues towards Nangethanti(2,460m) and an hour walk to Ghorepani. You will be accompanied by the scenic views of Dhaulagiri I (8,167m), Pico Tukuche Nilgiri (6,940m), Annapurna South, Annapurna I (8,091m), Hiunchuli (6,441m) and Tarke Kang (7,193m) on the way there.


Day 05:

Ghorepani Trek to Tadapani (2600 m, 5-6 hours)

We will start our early morning mission to experience the alluring sunrise at Poon Hill (3,210). The mystical views of Dhaulagiri I (8,167m), Pico Tukuche Nilgiri (6,940m), Annapurna South, Annapurna I (8,091m), Hiunchuli (6,441m) and Tarke Kang (7193m), Gangapurna (7454m), Lamjung Himal (6,986m), Mount Fishtail (6,997m) are sure to have you spell bound. Then returning back to Ghorepani, we will continue our trek to Tadapani to the familiar magnificent views of Machhapuchre and Annapurna South mountains with fine pine and rhododendron forests.


Day 06:

Tadapani Trek to Ghandruk Village (1940m) 3-4 hours.

The trail becomes slightly easy as we trek on a steady trail through the canopy of the forest. Continue to walk and after two hours we pass through rhododendron forest to reach the settlement named BaishiKharka with a row of teahouses and lodges on a ridge from here we trek downhill through the small settlements of the Gurung community and arrive at Gurjung village which also boasts of a school. From here again we down trek to Ghandruk
This area is offers some of the finest trekking in Nepal. The Annapurna range and Machapuchhere dominate the mountain views through glimpses further East to Lamjung Himal and Manaslu Range are also possible. Ghandrung village is rich through its excellent farming land and the generations of its sons who have sent and received pay and pensions from the British and Indian Gurkha armies.


Day 07:

Ghandruk Village Trek to Nayapul (5-6 hours) Drive to Pokhara (1:30 hours)

After breakfast, trek through a pleasant downhill trail and then the trail levels out and follows the banks of the river. After having spent a long time at higher altitudes, the heat sometimes makes travelling on the open riverbed an uncomfortable one. After about 3 hours arrive at the riverside settlement of Birethanti for lunch. This is also the main entry point to the Annapurna Conservation Area and after lunch, walk along the high banks of the Modi Khola for about 30 minutes and end trek at NayaPul to meet waiting vehicles for the one-hour drive back to Pokhara. Upon arrival check in at the hotel.


Day 08:

Pokhara Drive to Kathmandu. (6-7 hours)

From the beautiful Pokhara city, a tourist bus will take us to familiar road of twisting rivers, rock gorges to Kathmandu.


Day 09:

Departure from Tribhuwan International Airport

Our staff will be ready to drive our customers to the airport at least three hours before the scheduled departure.

    Great experience

    We booked the Poonhill trek in mid May. The booking process was easy. We went on hike with Jiban and Bivek who are very friendly and assisted us novice hikers very well! Guided us through the trail, had snacks for us, assisted when it got tough and both were very happy cheerful friendly and made the trek very fun. Thank you we are very grateful for our first Nepal trip
