Langtang Region

A trek to the Langtang Valley has to be one of the most rewarding of the short treks available anywhere in Nepal. The east-west running valley is the site of some spectacular alpine scenery as well as being a great place to meet unique people.
Langtang Helambu Trekking is one of the very interesting trekking routes in Langtng Region. Langtang is a region in the Himalayas of Nepal to the north of the Kathmandu Valley and bordering Tibet. The Langtang National Park is located in the area. The scenery of Langtang region is spectacular, and the treks are more adventurous as the area is visited by a few numbers of tourists. Since then the area has reopened for trekking, and the local people as always welcome trekkers back to the region.
Helambu Trekking is suitable for those who want to trek but don’t have much time to stay in Nepal because is a short 8 to 9 days trek. However, this trek can be completed in 5 to 6 days only. The trek begins from Kathmandu. Helamb is a region of highland villages in Nepal, about 80km from Kathmandu. Helambu valley is very famous for its natural beauty and wonderful climate with superb views of magnificent snow-covered mountains.
Gosaikunda is actually the largest of three main lakes. The other two being Saraswatikunda and Bhairabkunda. Hindu legend has it that the lakes were formed when the God Shiva plunged his trident (Trisul) into the ground in order to obtain water.
