Mera Peak is the highest trekking peak in Nepal. It is situated on the edge of the famous Khumbu Region, which Mount Everest dominates. Although very high, Mera Peak Climbing is a straightforward climb and is frequently ascended by groups and an individual whose only climbing qualifications are that they are fit and have an outgoing sense of adventure.

The trek takes us south from the airstrip at Lukla, trekking through beautiful forested hillsides and over several passes before climbing up to the Mera La. After the climb, we descend directly to Lukla.

The Mera Peak Climbing, Expedition is a high-altitude trek and climb. Participants need to be fit and conversant with an ice axe and crampons. Instruction in the use of these will be given at our base camp near the Mera La if required.

Mera Peak Climbing Overview

In good conditions, a fit party can reach the summit and return to Khare in one day. This is a rewarding experience as it provides glorious views of Nepal and a vista that takes in Kangchenjunga and Makalu to the east and Everest appearing over the massive southern aspect of Nuptse and Lhotse to the north.

To the west stands the spires of Ama Dablam and Kang Taiga and in the distance is the mighty bastion of Cho Oyu. This is a fine panorama of many of the world’s highest peaks.

The Mera Peak Climbing, itself takes the north face glacier in a steady rise to the summit ridge which leads, in an exposed and exciting situation, to the top. After the mountain has been climbed, we return by a direct route across a dramatic ridge to Lukla and the flight to Kathmandu.

This trip can be organized as a trip with tented accommodation in camps and tea house/guesthouse accommodation.

In this Mera Peak Climbing itinerary, we have only included the accommodation in tea houses as it is relatively much cheaper than camping (staying in a tent and cooking meals in a kitchen tent). But the accommodation at high/base camp (1/2 days) will be in a tent as there are no guesthouses/teahouses up there.

This is included in the itinerary for Mera Peak Climbing. In the case of one to two trekkers, the guide himself will prepare the food whereas in the case of a greater number of trekkers, a separate cook will be sent along to prepare food at tented camps.

The weather in the Himalayas is unpredictable. It can change within a few hours which is why a spare day has been added keeping the fact in mind. In case of bad weather on the day of the summit, you can walk up the summit the following day. Otherwise, if the weather remains sane and works in the favor then the spare day can be utilized any other day within the day of the flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu.

Since the flights are pre-booked, cancellation and rescheduling might not be possible, especially during the peak seasons. Thus, Mera Peak Climbing one day can be spent on relaxation or rest wherever required.

Accommodation for  the Mera Peak Climbing

As Regards accommodation during the Mera Peak climbing, trekkers generally rest in Teahouses, camping, High camps, and Base camps. In Mera Peak Climbing, High camps are usually basic and may involve sleeping in tents or rudimentary shelters and Base camps often provide tents or basic lodging and dining services.

Difficulty Level of the Mera Peak Climbing

If yes, then you must know about summer, also known as the rainy or monsoon season. Since the trails are muddy and slippery during monsoon, this is not the best time for Mera Peak Climbing. However, some professional climbers still tend to climb during monsoon with extra preparation and training for Mera Peak Climbing. During this season, skies are covered with rain clouds. The rainfall makes the surroundings dust-free, which offers a breathtaking view of the Himalayas. This is the only positive side of the monsoon season.

You made my dream come true: EBC and 3 Passes

After summiting Kilimanjaro, I was looking for my next adventure. Thank you Adventure White Himalaya Treks, owner Ganesh and Guide, Keshab for a dream and bucket list item come true. From the communication prior to the Trek back in South Africa, to fetching me at the airport and transporting me to a great hotel . Superb and persistent service……and then of to Lukla Airport for the start of a 2 week journey. I did the Everest Base Camp and the 3 Passes.
I am typing this review on my Hotelbed back in Kathmandu with a huge smile and great satisfaction. A dream come true.
The whole journey was well planned and executed to perfection. This team is super professional.
Ganesh for leading this company and Keshab, my guide, was absolutely finominal.
I could not have asked for a better Team than Adventure White Himalaya Treks.
I give them a 10 out of 10 and would recommend them to any one or group interested trekking in the Himalayas to make your dream come true.

Very Good Trekking Experience with Adventure White Himalaya

Did Annapurna Base Camp Trek via PoonHill with Adventure White Himalaya. Overall good experiences with Aventure White Himalaya, Ganesh and Raj are accommodating our requests throughout the duration. Though there are some miscommunication along the ways, they are able to solve it professionally. Good job!!

Excellent Service

We dealt with Ganesh before the trip and are very happy with the service provided. Everything was as promised.

Our guide, Hari, did an excellent job in planning our whole journey and improvising wherever he saw fit. He also was very in tuned with our fitness level and we didn’t feel that we were pushed beyond our capabilities.

Our porter, Gopi, was also very helpful especially in keeping our spirits up during the whole journey.

All in all I would highly recommend Adventure White Himalaya Treks Pvt Ltd to anyone who is going trekking in Nepal.
